BENDIGO BANK
Marcoola Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank Proudly partnering with Mudjimba SLSC
The Marcoola Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank has been serving the North Shore since 2004. Over the years more than $700,000 has been given back to the North Shore community.
Bendigo Bank has been one of Mudjimba SLSC’s major supporters for many years and recently they very generously committed $30,000 to the new renovations to the Mudjimba SLSC Clubhouse. This financial commitment will assist the Club to complete a new urgently needed Training room, Club Office, and a dedicated BBQ area for our Nippers and Members. As a Club we are proud to partner with Bendigo Bank and very grateful for their continued support.
“We’re here because locals including many who are members of Mudjimba SLSC said they wanted their own bank on the North Shore and that hasn’t been more important than right now. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, retiree, casual worker or a student, that commitment continues. Our shareholders and customers love us and love what we do, because we believe successful customers and successful communities create a successful bank – in that order. That’s why we’re excited about our long-standing relationship with Mudjimba Surf Lifesaving Club and supporting the needs of the Club and its development programs,” Marcoola Community Bank branch’s Mark Gielis shared.
Bendigo Bank has also provided ongoing financial support to our Youth for many years. This support has allowed the Club to send our Youth to leadership camps and for them to be involved in other opportunities that help develop their lifesaving and leadership skills.
Another valuable addition to the partnership between the Club and Bendigo Bank is the referral agreement in place since 2017. Each time a new customer mentions being a member of Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club when transferring their home loan over to the bank or successfully applying for a new credit card, equipment finance, or personal loan, Mudjimba SLSC will receive 0.2% in commission in addition to the sponsorship funds already received from the Marcoola Community Bank branch.
For example (according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in October 2016), the national average owner-occupied home loan is $373,000. Based on that figure, a successful refinance through each borrower would mean $746 would go back to the Club. That figure applies to every successful application, so the more successful applications are processed, the more Bendigo Bank will give back to Mudjimba SLSC.
